"Geometree" - Todd Reed
The strong geometric designs of these two landmark cottages at Epworth Heights resort on the Lake Michigan shoreline north of Ludington have always stood out. But I found the appearance of Blarney Castle (foreground) and Lake Forest cottages especially appealing on Dec. 1, 2008. A fresh coat of snow sticking to the trees surrounding the summer homes created a maze of repetitive patterns that complimented the dwellings.

The views of Lake Michigan and the Ludington North Pier Lighthouse from Epworth are breathtaking all year long. My task as an artist is to make photographs of those views that are fresh and exciting. When I saw these green bushes covered in a blanket of fresh snow, I knew I had found the view I was searching for.
