"California Gold Rush" - Todd Reed
There was plenty of gold in the hills above June Lake, California, as the sun struck the mountains above Horseshoe Falls the morning of Aug. 24, 2009. Photographing the falls, Carson Peak, and nearby Yosemite was among the highlights of a western vacation excursion that provided a dramatic change of pace for my photography. As awesome as the visual experience was, I was happy to return to photographing my first love--Michigan.
"Summer Rush" - Brad Reed
Cool August wind at sunset with the warm Lake Michigan water and the glorious clouds of the approaching fall often combine to create photographs that have the look and feel of the end of summer. This photograph serves as a reminder to me to enjoy every second of the summer because July and August always seem to be in a "summer rush".
