Pictures of the Month November 2009
"Buck Eye" - Todd Reed Caught in the sharp light of a November morning, a whitetail deer catches sight of a photographer. Seeing a big buck so close with such glorious light falling perfectly upon it was deer hunting at its best.
"Wind Carving" - Brad Reed As a modern day photographer, I love the challenge of pre-visualizing the world in black and white. Using sophisticated digital equipment and shooting in the RAW format, my photographs are all captured in color. When we post process, we have the option of taking all of the color out of the scene. The trick is to be able to imagine what a color scene is going to look like in black and white before you trip the shutter. The shadows caused by the setting sun offered a great opportunity to create this black and white scene in the sand along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
