Nature waits for no one, especially photographers. You are there or you are not; there are no second takes. You anticipate, prepare, and, if necessary, move swiftly. One September night Debbie and I spotted storm clouds from our house. Hurrying to the Ludington beach, we got a full view of a squall line approaching the Lake Michigan shoreline. Scambling, we got the camera and tripod set up along the shoreline just in time. The incredible light accompanying the autumn squall skyrocketed my adrenaline level as few pictures have. Experiencing the moment was as exhilarating as recording it.
